2026 INO-NEXUS Essay Contest

Hosted by the International Neuroscience Organization (INO), the NEXUS (Neurotechnology and Ethics Exchange for Universal Scholars) Essay Contest is a global competition inviting high-school students to explore the rapidly evolving frontier of brain science.

You can critically analyze breakthroughs, propose future applications, or navigate the moral dilemmas of neuroscience.

Contest Details

All submissions must be received by June 24th, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Essay Tracks

Neurotechnology

AI applications in neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, neural engineering, and related topics.

Neuroethics

Moral implications of neuro-enhancement, algorithmic bias in diagnostics, data privacy, and policy questions.

Awards

Three winning essays will be officially published and showcased on the INO Global platform.

The top 10% of participants will receive a Certificate of Excellence, and all eligible entrants will receive a Certificate of Recognition.

Submission Guidelines

Formatting

  • Must use 11 pt Calibri font

  • Must submit a PDF file

  • Bold, underlines, italics, and indentations can be used as pleased. Supporting images can also be utilized.

  • Citations must be in a standardized format, such as APA or MLA

  • Essays should be 500-1500 words in length

  • USE OF AI IS NOT PERMITTED

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the exclusion of your essay from grading and award consideration.
